The Anime

The term Japanese anime is a word written in three katakana characters, or I (アニメ) and animation means (generally), and not only to the law of that country. It rules ánime
Etymologically discussed if an abbreviation of the Japanese transliteration of the English word animation (abbreviated as is the case with many foreign words). Or if, as the connoisseurs, the origin would be the word French anime (animated).
One way or another the Latin word ani means soul, and drift into words as animism and animation, all of them related to the idea of movement or life of things that do not originally possess.
Internationally, the anime once led the popular name "Japanimation", but this term has fallen into disuse. Fans preferably pronounced the word as an abbreviation of the phrase "Japan Animation." He saw the most use during the years 1970 and 1980, which generally includes the first and second wave of anime fandom. The term survived at least until early 1990, but seemed to disappear just before the resurgence of encouraging mid-1990. In general, the term "Japanimation" now appears only in contexts nostalgia (although the actual anime has revived the name again very recently).
The voice actors for anime usually bear the designation Japanese equivalent: seiyuu
